Tariş Fig Union President Mustafa Bircan stated that dried figs, which are known as the most beneficial food after breast milk, are consumed more due to the corona virus epidemic, and that the prices have increased approximately 5 times in the last 5 years.

Noting that despite the decrease in the fig yield due to the drought this year, President Mustafa Bircan noted that as Tariş Fig Association, they continue their activities at full capacity and said, "Our city Aydın is the leader of Turkey and the world in dried fig production. Turkey produces approximately 70-80% of the dried figs worldwide. About 70 percent of this is produced in Aydın," he said, adding that they are constantly working to evaluate Aydın's national product.

Stating that figs are currently produced on an area of ​​370 thousand decares in Aydın and that the dried sarilop type figs are grown only in Aydın and its surroundings throughout the country, Tariş Fig Union President Mustafa Bircan also evaluated the prices. "When we look at the last year, the prices were very good on the basis of producers. We have been standing by our fig producer partner for 4 years. When we first took office, the number 4 51-55 figs were 5 liras in 2016. In the past 4 years, this price has increased 5 times. This year, from 26 liras. He said, "There was an increase in prices by about 37 percent compared to last year," he said, adding that fig exports continued to increase despite the pandemic.

Stating that as Tariş Fig Association, they have been purchasing figs between 5 thousand and 7 thousand tons for 4-5 years, Chairman of the Board Mustafa Bircan, "We have 14 cooperatives and 5 thousand partners affiliated to the union. We mainly sell abroad. We also have domestic sales. 70 percent. "This year, the first ship took off on September 30. Currently, we have exported over a thousand tons. Our exports continue for 12 months of the year."

Türkiye olarak 60-70 bin ton arası kuru meyve ihraç ediyoruz. Buradan da 250-300 milyon dolar arası döviz girdisi sağlıyoruz. Cari açığı kapatmak bakımından bunun çok önemli olduğunu düşünüyoruz. Dünyadaki bir çok alanda ticari hacim azalırken kuru meyvede ve özellikle incirde herhangi bir sıkıntı yaşamdık. Halen ihracat devam ediyor" diyerek içinde bulunduğumuz pandemi sürecinde dahi kısa çalışma ödeneğine başvurmadan faaliyetlerine devam ettiklerini söyledi.

Tariş İncir Birliği tarafından başta Avrupa ülkeleri olmak üzere Uzakdoğu ve Arapyarımadası'na kuru incir gönderildiği belirtildi.
